Two upcoming Microsoft events, Community Summit Europe and extreme365, have been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. They were set to have taken place from March 9-12, but have now been moved to June 29 – July 2.
The venue hasn’t changed so the event will still be held at Fira Barcelona according to an announcement by the organisers.
This is the full statement from the event website:
The health and safety of our community members is of utmost importance to us. Out of an abundance of caution for impact of the novel Coronavirus, we have made the decision to reschedule Community Summit Europe and extreme365 events that were previously scheduled for March 9-12, 2020 in Barcelona. We invite you to join us for the new dates in June 29 - July 2nd, 2020 at the Fira Barcelona.
These last two events are just the latest conferences to change their plans as more and more people are contracting the virus around the world. Microsoft has recently announced that it planned to withdraw from Game Developers Conference 2020 which is due to start on the 16th of March. One of the initial conference disruptions related to the Coronavirus was the cancellation of Mobile World Congress last month. It was scheduled to take place at the same facility as extreme365 but saw some of its biggest sponsors pull out.
